Do not normally sail Bala unless it is a SW or at the very least a W, but have got so desperate to get back on the water considered this NE. Got there about 11.00 and all seem quite calm, so with my brother we decided to go with the big sails 8.6 & 7.1.

Almost as soon as we got out there, still doubtful if we can remember how to do it, it started to pick up and after a few runs across it was time to get back to shore and change down. Get back was not that easy through as the strong gusts made it difficult to bare away, with out getting catapulted.

Back with a 6.3m made things a lot easier and managed a few good runs although not constantly planning, as the wind was very gusty. After a further couple of hours decided that my recently under used muscles had had enough, not a brilliant session but better than nothing and a taste of what the Summer has to offer.

Where have all the SWíS gone?
